Finally, we have a strong connection to the actual product – Buddy, the soul mate for each child in a classroom!

This week we had a face-to-face meeting in miLAB at IDC. This meeting was essential for our development and ideation process. It was not only because of the assignment we had to deal with during the class, but also because of the after-class brainstorming we had.

Now, after 7 weeks of thinking, investigating, and arguing, we finally have a strong fundamental of how and what our product looks and behaves.

Buddy is an IoT device lay on each class desk. This device connects to the child's phone and sends\receives information from the phone.

Buddy replaces the way the teacher asks questions and manages discussions in class.

Today a question is being asked in the class forum, making some kids uncomfortable with the pressure of being judged by other classmates. This pressure sometimes could affect some kids not to ask or answer the teacher's questions.

Instead of asking the whole class about some questions, Buddy will collect the class answers and monitor them to the teacher. We will accomplish two major benefits using Buddy:

Firstly, the answering process is anonymous for the class (each one sees only his answer) - kids won't be afraid to be wrong; this encourages them to answer more questions.

Secondly, Buddy monitors the child's knowledge to the teacher – the teacher unite of Buddy will collect the answers from the class and present the statistics for those questions.

We know it is just the starting point for Buddy. We have much work ahead. But we now have a solid understanding of how and what Buddy does and looks like.

See you all next week :)

Buddy Team.
